To Cider House Renovations.
It is with a grateful heart we welcome you to Cider House Renovations.
Although we have big dreams for Cider House, the Renovation company holds a special place in our hearts. If it wasn't for Jay's big leap to move to Minnesota we may never have been in the position to open Cider House Renovations. It was a brave and bold jump that lead Jay to pursue a career change and make our dreams into a reality.
In fall of 2017, Jay quit his corporate job and moved out to Minnesota. Unknowing what he was going to do for work once he made the move, we decided it was time for him to shoot for the stars and see if we could make this thing more than a dream. Jay started with a few handyman jobs while studying for his licensure and hired his first crew member in February 2018.
in 2018 Cider House Renovations made some big moves. I completed my master's program and had more time to devote to the business and naturally took the roles of design consultant, media management and HR.
We quickly grew our team and attended our first Home Remodel Show, winning Best In Show!
Now in 2019, we continue to grow our team and are thankful for the opportunities our community has given us. What an amazing year this has been!
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit Cider House Renovations. We love that you are considering us for your next project and hope to welcome you to the Cider House family.
Construction Lead | Owner
Jay Boyko is owner and founder of Cider House Renovations. Jay was born in Groton, Connecticut, and raised in Warwick, New York. He graduated from Oswego State University of New York with a degree in Operations Management.
Jay started his first business in his junior year of high school, pressure washing decks and houses. This gave him his first introduction into the world of entrepreneurism as well as an appreciation for a ‘hands-on’ trade. His business and construction skills were honed further during his high school and college years as Jay worked alongside his father, operating a cider mill/agritourism business in upstate New York. It was here that Jay learned about the risks and rewards of being an entrepreneur as well as the responsibilities that come along with operating a business. After college Jay took a job in the corporate world, where he spent much of his time working directly with customers. This taught him the importance of one-on-one relationships in business and how important it is to service customers in a timely, professional manner.
Although he was on a solid career track in the corporate world, Jay’s desire to realize his dream to start a construction/home renovation business triumphed. After years of dedicated hard work, Jay left his corporate job, to follow his entrepreneurial passion for home renovation and real estate. With over 15 years of experience in construction and skilled labor, Jay’s first property as the owner of Cider House was a complete renovation of a triplex in upstate New York.
Jay’s work ethic, skill level and eye for quality can bring a facelift to any type of construction project, large or small. His design preference is “clean and simple with a mixture of materials or patterns."
While his many renovation projects take up lots of time, Jay is dedicated to his family. His bride, Emily, is the love of his life. Together, they enjoy their black labs, Andrew and Titan, traveling to new places and working on their aquaponic garden.
Emily Boyko is co-founder and design consultant of Cider House Renovations. She appreciates classic lines and vintage details that make a home. Emily was born in Fargo, North Dakota and was raised in the midwest. She graduated from Bethel University with a masters in Counseling Psychology.
Emily had always gravitated to art and design. She began to cultivate an appreciation for architecture and historical features that culturally make a house a home through art and travel. She soon discovered that her passion for creating a space for individuals to feel at home complimented Jay's dream of owning a remodeling business.
Through preserving and highlighting the character of each home, Emily aims to keep the unique charm. Her passion is to encourage and inspire homeowners to make their space unique to them, matching their lifestyle and personalities.
In-between working with Cider House Renovations and running Cider House Counseling Services, Emily works with their church in student ministry. While traveling and scuba diving feeds Emily's adventurous soul, she enjoys lazy days with her husband Jay, and their two black labs, Andrew and Titan.
